Physiotherapy treatments are not covered by the regular BC Medical Services Plan, however, if you have an extended health benefits plan, it may fully or partially reimburse your fee – please check your policy for details.
For British Columbia MSP beneficiaries receiving premium assistance, MSP will contribute $23 per visit for a combined annual limit of 10 visits each calendar year towards physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, naturopathy, acupuncture, and non-surgical podiatry.
How do I know how much I am covered for?
You will need to contact your extended health carrier, however, due to confidentiality we are unable to obtain access to determine your coverage limits.
What if I only have partial extended health care benefits?
We bill you for the full visit. You then submit to your carrier directly for partial reimbursement and the remaining amount of your balance you are required to pay.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
You do not need a doctor referral to attend physiotherapy, however, some insurance carrier plans require you to have a doctors note. Please check with your insurance carrier.
Can I pre-bill for future appointments or past appointments?
We can only bill you on the same day as the appointment. We cannot bill appointments in the future or past appointments.
